Hi, my console just gave me 2 red lights, i browsed the forum for similar issues that other people have had and most have been resolved by just opening and cleaning the xbox. I did the same thing, however, once cleaned it worked for about 30 mins, then 2 red lights once again and has been the same ever since. I would really appreciate it if someone could suggest other ideas. Thanks, much appreciated.

you could try the x-clamp fix.

I had e74 (1 red light)
and on another occasion it wouldn't flash any lights at all.

x-clamp fixed it.

(although my xbox has eventually died now for good at least it worked for another 6 months or so)

Get some good thermal paste(Arctic Silver 5). Clean the chips completely. apply about a grain of rice worth. Spread thinly and completely with a credit card. then return the heatsinks. also while you have it open try to power it on and make sure both fans are spinning. remember to put the fan shroud back on before reassembling.

thanks alot for the reply guys, i think i'll try to put some arctic silver on, and if that doesn't work i will apply the x-clamp fix. Thanks once again!
