Hi I just wanted to ask if there was a way to see what firmware a DVD driver has. For example if a Xbox 360 DVD drive needs to be flashed to iXtreme 1.51 from iXtreme 1.50 and you flash it, is there any way to see from the PC what firmware the DVD contains ?
I dont understand your question, do you want to see the firmware a drive contains or just flash it up to a newer firmware??
1. If you want to see what firmware type a 360 drive is running use Jungle Flasher and dump the firmware from the drive and it will show you if the xBox drive is Stock or Modded and what Firmware it is flashed with, if modded.
2. If you want to upgrade the drive just simply flash it the same way you flashed it the first time just using the newer fimware version.
Yeah I wanted to know if you could see what firmware the DVD contains. For example after flashing maybe you want too see if the flash worked and then that is what I´m asking, is there a way to do that. I presume there is by your post.
Ok, so theres two ways to check the FW version that i know of.
1. Put a back-up copy of a game in the xBox and see if it plays, try a wave 3 game to see if the xBox is pre or post iExtreme 1.51.
2. (This method takes alot of extra work if your not already using Jungle Flasher to flash the drive.) Open up Jungle Flasher and fidn the drive and hit read/dump drive (depending on the drive) and check in the main screen of Jungle Flasher to see what firmware the xBox is running.

To be absolutely sure, just dump the firmware of the drive with jungleflasher. It'll open up and tell you which version is on there.
Just want to explain some more, in a few days iXtreme 1.6 will be released, I have iXtreme 1.51. I havn´t flashed it myself but I´ve got a few items like the CK3, a sata via card and made a probe. So here is my question, If one flashes to iXtreme 1.6 from 1.51 isn´t there like a easy way to just check/see what (iXtreme) firmware the DVD contains after the flashing has been done?

what everyone has said is correct... you'd have to dump the firmware to do that kinda verification... there is no simple command you can issue to see the firmware revision.
if the flash is successful then it is logical to assume the firmware revision is whatever you just flashed it with...
