Downloaded latest firmware successfully. Running NTL and 5000PVR OK but Max wont find any channels when scanning. Defaulted factory setting reset many times checked C14. Is the tuner on the box knackered does anyone no how to find or diagnose problem Or is there someone Northwest that can fix them

are you getting a signal, check on screen signal meter.have you entered ntl id on your box(in power scan, network id)i think it 5401(for cable, not mmds)if the old firmware worked fine all be it with only free channels, try relashing that back in(if it works and you get fta channels, then the software you put in is incorrect or faulty)there are a few types of eurovox all with there own firmware)so you need to check that.if you go back to the old firmware in the end and it works you can input codes your self very easily.final thing which should be obvious but check all leads and cables are fitted correctly.good luck

I've put the new firmware on other MAX V and 5000 PVR and they all work fine. Put other boxes on the same feed and also fine. Just this one box. I don't know whether the guy has tried something else that has screwed it up or whether something like the tuner RF reciever has blown

Have you tried it on both Symbol Rates? Have you tried the 8% firmware fix for the Max V as this is for tuner problems.

Sorry about the confusion on the PVR. The PVR statement was to explain that there is nothing wrong with the signal to the box.
I have used the UFL_MAX_V_5_12_08 file so will try the 8% later thanks for that.
SCouser although I do go to Ireland every weekend (family ties in Mullingar) I am indeed in the NW England. I'm glad you're involved in the thread because your a knowledgable person on these things.
The box takes the firmware OK but sees no signal strength (8%) when deep scanning from about 280 upwards where I would start to see some channel/frequency pick up. That's why I asked the forum for help in identifying the potential fault causes. As I said I will try the 8% firmware tonignt

No problem, try the 8% firmware fix and see how it goes. Start the scan at it default of 100 Mhz also.

I'm going to do a factory reset. Install firmware. Start at 100 to 800 and see how it goes. Thanks anyway
