Hi,
First off, thanks to everyone for the great info. Thanks to this site I've been able to install the Twilight Hack and Homebrew channel and backup my discs.

I'm quite sure the reason I can't play the backups is because I live in the boonies and only have dial-up modem available here (no WIFI connection). So even though I have the backup loader installed, I am unable to install the needed IOS's from the 'cIOS Installer.'

In order to play backup discs, is there a way to download the needed files to my computer and then transfer it to the Wii?

I do have a couple of IOS installed this way already:
IOS36-64-v1042.wad and
IOS16-64-v257-prod.wad

but they were obviously not the files needed to play the backup games.
Any help will be appreciated.

btw, my version is 3.3U

Thanks

Go HERE and follow this guide.

Place the IOS36-64-v1042.wad in the root of the SD directory along with the files located in the 3.3 folder that is linked in the above guide.

When you get to the cIOS installer section of the guide make sure you use the WAD Install option and the cIOS installer will get all needed files from the IOS36-64-v1042.wad file that is located on the SD Directory.

Thanks for the reply. I already installed IOS36-64-v1042.wad using the Wad manager (there was no install option to use the SD card on the cIOS installer, it just went straight into attempting a network connection), and it installed fine with no errors. Is that the only IOS I need? Because I still get the same 324 read error.

I've tried a couple of different dvd's, + and - using ImgBurn but it is always the same error message.

I tried downgrading to 3.2U but that didn't work because that also requires a Wifi connection.

Is there a way to know what IOS files I need or am missing to get the backup launcher to work?

Did I say to use WAD mangaer to install IOS36-64-v1042.wad?

Did I say to use the cIOS installer you where using before?

I said to use the files I have linked to in the guide above.

The cIOS installer I have in the guide package lets you choose between WAD or WiFi installation.

Make sure you have IOS36-64-v1042.wad in the root of the SD card and choose to use the WAD install when running the cIOS installer.

How hard is it to follow directions?

I hate it when users ask for help and we help. But they do not follow the steps we give them.

Sorry, my bad. I figured if I already got the IOS36-64-v1042.wad to install then it didn't matter what I exactly used. I'll try from scratch using the files you uploaded...'using the steps you've given.'

Despite your being a bit ticked at noobs like me, I appreciate the fact that you still took the time to reply and re-explain the process.

Thanks a million. You rock!!
