having problems flashing going by the jungle flash tuturial and it confused the hell out of me i think i flashed it wron ghow do i put the drive back to original shape? to start over?

drive returned to invalid status pops up when i click read

What type of SATA chipset are you using?

If it is a virgin drive, make sure you have the right SATA port selected, and click Sammy Unlock.

the chipste is VIA VT6421 RAID CONTROLLER

well thats the card you guys recomended to purchase


i had the wrong drive selected i guess but i re flashed acording to the jungle flash manual everything went ok!

but i guess im supposed to be able to see it on vista? its not showing up ?

now im a little confused on what program i use to rip the games im going to backup?

i noticed people talking about using multiple programs and the guides for burning are really good im just having trouble finding a good guide for ripping but ill keep at the search thanks for your help

So did you flash iXtreme firmware or 0800 firmware?

the reaseon i got that error while i was in mkt flash i had the wrong i/o port selected it was the empty sata port i noticed switched to the right one and did intro device id then read then clicked yes and clicked back and then click write
verification was good

now i cant find it on vista

Windows won't be able to recognize a drive flashed with iXtreme. You will need to flash the drive with the 0800 firmware in order to have Windows recognize it as a drive.

The location of the firmware on Xbins is /XBOX 360/firmware/hacked firmware/Toshiba-Samsung TS-H943/_old/Xtreme_Package-Toshiba_Samsung.rar

The name of the file is xtrm0800.bin.

Make sure you have a back-up of your original firmware and/or key before flashing this to your drive.

You do not have to paste in your key for this to work.

Once you have it recognized, you can use Schtrom 4.0 or XBOX Back up creator to make your back-up copies.

i guess im getting so confused becasue i dont understand any of it so far i flashed my drive succesfully with i xtreme
is there a way to rip while using i xtreme?


i s there a giude for noobs that is up to date so i can stop bugging you

i have dl dvd r+ verbatum and id really like to back the games i have

i waited to do any of this till i got a secondary system to avoid trouble with live so im not worried about that i just keep searching and get forum posts from 2006 and its making me even more confused

In my other post is the location of the firmware you need to make back-ups. Download it, Flash it to your drive, and you will be able to make back-ups at that point.

im sorry

i feel like an idot but i went to xbins.org and pasted /XBOX 360/firmware/hacked firmware/Toshiba-Samsung TS-H943/_old/Xtreme_Package-Toshiba_Samsung.raron the end and i keep getting page not found and i also tried to navigate to page to the file but cant figure out where to go after i click xbox 360?

and is there a way to rip while using i xtreme?

yeah im am stupid i figured it out sorry i had to learn about xbin real quick thanks for your help ill let you know how it turns out!


ohh and i was so frustrated about all of this i ended up not noticing my hdd temp on my pc considering the side panel is off and my 360 is blowing heat in the chamber i ended up getting the drive failure message ! another hard drive down the drain!

update

i just flashed 0800 clicked intro device then read then i selected 0800 manually and clicked write verification was good

closed jungle flash and restarted xbox
then opened my computer and got the blue screen of death after reboot went into my computer and it is showing up as cd drive!

im assuming this is right so ill let ya know how the rest of the process goes and thanks again!

No problem.. one thing you might do is keep the XBOX 360 drive powered off until you are completely booted up. Then power it on and windows should detect it.

ill actually try that it has been on the whole time

i actually tried both programs you recomended

s360x says it can not extract dmi

and XBC is saying no media present

im using saints row 2

did i flash right? should it be showing up as a cd drive?

do i need to burn 0800.iso

well while i was waiting

i decided to try and reflash

didnt work out everything froze during write process and i left it go for about 30 min and turned off

now when the drive is powered up pc freezes almost like a pulse then unfreezes and refreezes dont know how to fix

so id like to fix that drive but id also like to know if i can use junglefalsh to flash xtrm0800 on a ms28?

Might try to make a bootable jump drive and put dosflash 1.7 (dosflash16) on it along with your xtrm0800.bin. Boot to it and see if you can flash.

great ill research on how to do that.. unless you know a good guide

i did the ms28 the same way unlocked > read > had to manually choose 0800 because clicking yes doesnt work then i did write

same thing media not present and schrot wont cant extract dmi

i cant see any other reason why it do the same exact thing with both drives!

think it might be vista acting up?

The xtrm0800 firmware will change the drive and say it is a MS-25.

Do you have the VIA driver installed? Specifically viamraid.sys or vsmraid.sys... can check at C:/WINDOWS/System32/drivers folder.

im positive its not that driver i will definetly try the one you recomended

do my bois settings with raid affect anything? i read it will affect connectivity during flashing but my pc rconized pretty easy even though i have two hdd's and a dvd through sata

and i havnt done anything with the ms28 but after i flash it in dos id like to leave it permenetly attached to my pc for ripping but i'll tackle that when i get to

thank you soo much!! i know im annoying! i feel terrible becasue im good with pc's im just new to doing anything with xbox's

i guess i should have modded my wii first!
