So with wanting to mod my first Wii, I know there's some options to consider, but I hear about fake/ripoff wiikey and other chips that are out there. I'm most likely getting the latest wii hardware version out there (d2c2 or d2e?) Anyone have luck with a no-solder kit for any new drivechip version wii's?
Is there any legit sites that someone can refer me to get a wii modchip from? I don't think it's against forum rules to ask about chips, but if it is, just close this post. I didn't mean any disrespect.

Also, If I DONT plan on connecting online ever with the Wii, (except if some update is absolutely necessary to play new titles or such) does that impact what type of chip I may want?

If your in the US or Canada then try modchipcentral.com.

You don't even need a modchip if you softmod it to play backups.
