I have a starview 1 which was working fine but we was not using it so it was placed in the cupboard.
decided that today i would use it and got it out of the cupboard but it had fallen down the back of the shelf, i managed to get it out but it sounded like something was rattling about, plugged it in and it was working dash light flashing on front i moved the box and the electric supply tripped out and something inside the box moved .
so i opened the box up and the heat sink inside had come loose so i removed it ( i assume it belongs on top of the transformer) but when i plugged in the box again i got nothing.
so i had a look in the box thinking maybe there was a fuse that had blown, there was instruction on the first pc board where the power comes in that fuse should be replaced only with the same fuse, nut i could not see any fuse ( nto in the sence of fuses i know ie clear glass fuse inside) but there is a line of four diodes resistor type items which i think maybe fuses.
am i on the right track (i think its definately a fuse thats blown)
are they the fuse,s
where will i be able to purchase them.
can anyone tellme how to test the pc board to see if it is a fuse there is definately 240 going to the board but thats as far as i can tell as i dont know where to test for power on the board, maybe someone can give me an education i would hate to lose the box down to something simple.
THANX in anticipation of your hel.[b]

rather than go through all the hassle of trying to find a diagnosis with this box why dont you just go on flea bay,you will pick up a box fairly cheaply there, its your choice but that's what id do to be honest.

little black things with aline down them these are capasitors it wont be them thats gone theres a little pancake shaped thing usually blue or red thats the fuse if u test it for current by putting ur probes on either side of it if theres no current the fuse is blown
