I'm planning on modding an Xbox 360 and I have a couple of questions.
Everytime you want to update the iextreme firmware, you have to go through the whole process of flashing your DVD drive again, right? I'm just wondering because I'm just getting someone to do it for me (don't have a desktop) and if I need to reflash everytime, I'll just wait until 1.6 comes out.
Next, I need to get a DVD writer, and because I only have laptops, I'm getting an external. I was just wondering if anyone has any opinions/comments on this particular drive:
Also, can someone explain this book type thing? I read that you need to make sure to change it to DVD_ROM or something, but why? What does it do? Furthermore, I read how to change the book type in ImgBurn. I read that you need to figure out how to change the book type for your particular drive, but does ImgBurn do that for you?
The book-type (I believe) is how the disc reports what it is. What I mean is if it set the DVD+R then it will say its a dvd+r if it set to dvd rom it will say its a dvd rom. this may not be it if so someone please say so. but anyways setting it to dvd-rom is the way to get it to work. Also yes you have to do the same process to update as the initial flash. You may want to look into flashing yourself depending on what the person who is going to flash will charge you and hwo much for updates.
