Today i started playing GW2 and xbox360. Then suddenly my screen goes all snowy(green, blue) on me! It always happen randomly, often it happen in 15 min. And sometimes it happens in a 60 min.
The screen looks like green snow. after it happend i quite the game and go to my dashboard but still the screen is snowy. Then i restart my xbox360 and everything is normal. but if i play a game the later i get the same problem.
if the warranty is still in effect and the warranty sticker is in good condition then i would still try sending it in. they wont check for a mod, only verify your problem and fix or replace. if anything they will deny repair based on signs of the unit being opened and stickers being messed up. IF they dont want to fix it they will send it back then you can try yourself.
Yeah, you'll almost certainly get rrod... happened to me. I would suggest taking it to a pro to get it diagnosed properly though... to get it fized it should only cost around $40, which is alot cheaper than getting a new 360.
Same problem with me about 3 months ago. Got strange blue blocks on my screen and 6 hours later got a visit from E74. I used the hair dryer trick to get my sticker off and I had pry marks on the back, MS still took it. Although I was out of my warranty and had to fork out 100 bucks, it was worth it to get a new LiteOn drive and Jasper chipset. If you have your warranty, send it... Just make sure the sticker looks decent. If you are out of warranty, try the X-Clamp or spend 100 to get a new DVD Drive and newer mainboard.
