japanese Wii Picture problems

Ok...so maybe im thick !!

heres my dilemma:

I bought a moddded japanese wii and am having trouble getting a clear picture on my Panasonic Plasma here in ireland. The video leads are Y, R, W. However, on my TV theres the Red and White Audio & video i/p's ( no problem there) and a green Component i/p. When i connect up im left with no other option but to connect the Yellow component lead to the green component input on the TV. Then i get a black/white fuzzy picture.

Is there some kind of Pal/Ntsc incompatibility problem i have or is it something else ?

You need a component cable hookup for the Wii. That or a TV with regular RCA (composite) yellow, red, white hookups.

Whats a component cable hook up?

i just bought my Panasonic Plasma a few weeks ago...does this mean i cant use the wii with it ?
