wiikey stopped working

my wiikey stopped working a couple days ago. My wii can read normal discs but not burned ones. There could be two reasons to why it happened, but I'm not sure which one. So any help would be good.

1. I moved from college back home and took the wii. It might have been dropped or something, I don't know. The chip could have broke or one of the solder points undo. I'm not sure, I have to get someone to look at the soldering.

2. I installed mplayer CE a couple days ago and I was playing a movie on the network. The movie suddenly crashed and made a weird noise, so I restarted the wii and everything seem fine, but it isn't.

So it is either a software or hardware. I tried putting in the config disc, but it doesn't read it.

Any help would be great. Thanks!
