Are you using the VIA 6421 SATA card?

it's not dead... just keep trying ... we've had dozens of people come on here in fear they killed the liteon drive cause they messed up the erase... 100% of them eventually got it working ...

the part of the drive that writes/erases the firmware is hard-coded.. it can't be erased... so without physical damage to the drive you should always be able to write/erase the firmware no matter what...

post back when you have it working

1. Disable VIA Card in Device Manager.
2. Go to C:/WINDOWS/system32/drivers and remove "viamraid.sys" or "vsmraid.sys".
3. Re-Enable VIA Card.
4. Re-Boot
5. Open up JF and go to MTKFlash tab.
6. Re-send LiteON Erase to the same SATA port you did before. Power cycle when prompted.
7. Should return good flash chip properties and status 0x72.
8. Load Dummy, AutoSpoof to ix1.51. Write. Send Outro/ATA reset.

If that doesn't work, you will need a bootable flash drive, DosFlash 1.7 (dosflash16), L-O-Eras.exe, and your custom ix1.51 firmware.

Perfect advice. I, somehow, got it to work with Jungle Flasher with the via drivers installed. XP SP3, VIA 6421, ect..

If you can't get jungle flasher to work in windows, I would suggest you use iprep in dos, it will do the trick for you. I had the same problem with my lite-on. I thought I had bricked it, after erasing in JF.

yes of course you should be using dosflash

it doesnt matter that the drive won't eject ... using dos flash if the erase command gives you the wrong code just power cycle the drive... really its quite simple... eventually you will get the right erase code

Glad you got it working. :)

I would hold onto that .sys file as you would need it if you tried flashing a Hitachi over WinAPI or you have 0800 firmware on a Samsung or BenQ to copy games.
