I am just curious. A lot of people say Verbatim DVD+R DL are the best to use when making backups. Followed by Sony DVD+R DL. But I'm seeing bad reviews on the Verbatim and the one here says they moved from Singapore???. What do you guys...the daily consumers think?

I've never had a problem with Verbatims(made in Singapore). I burn at 4x.

I didn't even have a problem with those Verbatims made in India and I burn at 8x.
Its written on the package where they were made.

Xbox 360: Slim untouched with a faked 320 GB harddrive for XBL, phat with LT 3.0, played Halo early, so going on live would be an instand ban, also with a faked 320 GB harddrive
PS3: Untouched 160 GB Slim, 60 GB Fat with latest Rogero and 160 GB internal harddrive.
PSVita: hardly ever play it
GameCube: Black with a Viper chip installed. With gameboy player. Trying to get a Wavebird controller.

It says on the side of the tub packaging "Made in Singapore". I bought these from Amazon. Not a bad deal.

I've been backing up for awhile now, strictly using the verbatims from singapore. When I first started I tried the memorex that can be found cheap in every office max. The game burned, and would work for a few min's then start skipping and eventually fail. The weird thing is, no matter what speed I burn at, I can't get the memorex to work, however, my neighbors grandfather burned a backup of shellshock 2 on memorex brand and it plays flawlessly. Is it possible to have a good burner and use the cheaper disk or vice versa. Just thought I might throw this one out there.

I usually use verbs but could not afford them this time so bought some Aone pro's, not had a single coaster, they where only £6.75 for 10 from amazon!

Same here, Verbs burnt at 2.4x, any faster and you may run into problems.
One tip i have for people is to burn a game while you're out or burn one while you're gaming on the xbox and before you know it the dvd is done and ready to play!

So it looks like Verbs get top honors, they're just so dang expensive. Ritek, i've looked on amazon/ebay and all they have are like 50+ packs so im spending about $50+ on them. Sony's just get no love. I've only seen one 10 pack of Sony DL DVD+R's in my local Kmart.they were on sale for $9.99 and i havent seen them since. I burned 2 coasters with them mainly on my part. There was a buffer error on 1 of them and it asked if it wanted me to close the session i accidently clicked yes, so it started writing the disc, and the other, idk what happened to be totally honest with you. Then i have this one back up that went through abgx just fine but for some reason it couldn't verify the game data or something???? I take my system offline and play the game fine, im just a bit extra careful with the game. maybe you all have had the same problem??? the game is Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection...
