hey all, we finally got a Wii and would like to know if anyone could be kind enough to provide me some info. If someone can direct me to a tutorial, step by step guide for getting the wii to be able to play legal back-ups/homebrew games and anyother stuff and to a guide on making legal back-ups of the couple games I bought that would be greatly appreciated.
Basically I need to know step by step how to take our Wii to the MAX!

yup, serial starts with LU640....so this means no hacking for me at the moment?

I'll just wait it out, don't want to return this one and get used one.
It's still in the box, I haven't even gotten the chance to hook it up yet...still cleaning up after my sons bday party.
I will post it later here though.
Thanks for the help so far, I hope you can help me out on all this, I use to have all my stuff hacked(psp/ps2) but got so damn busy I don't even know where to start now.

softmii team is working on it, they release 2(2.9.x) version prematurely some user's end up bricking their Wii. So wait for 3.0 version.

hi, i got a wii with 3.4u and would like to know if i need to have TP disk or could a save file be downloaded then put on sd card then moved to my wii for homebrew channel installation.
also, how would playing back-ups work with 3.4u?

You need both the Zelda disc and the hack to install the Homebrew Channel.
Place the Twilight Princess hack on your SD Card (make sure it is TP hack for 3.4 firmware).
Place the boot.dol file for Homebrew Channel instillation at the root of the SD card.
Place the SD card in Wii and transfer the TP Hack to the Wii under game data management (do not reset or turn off the Wii or the TP hack will be removed. Backtrack to the disc channel after transferring the Game Save to the Wii).
Now place TP game disc in Wii and start the game. Load the TP game exploit at the game save menu after starting the game.
After it starts and you have control of Link walk backwords with him and code will start to dump which will pick up the boot.dol file and install the Homebrew Channel.
Keep in mind you will not be able to use any Backup or USB loaders to play backup games until there is a stable hack out (that installs a cIOS) for LU64 Wii systems. This has already been discussed in the above post.
There is a hack out but there have been some that have bricked their systems (not all) but it is still recommended to wait till a stable version comes out.
