ok, so my story has been going on for about a year now. I originally had a Sonydvd+r dl drive and i burnt with imgburn using custom LB 1913760,(by the way, I ALWAYS use verbatim dvd+r dl media) my first game worked but then all the others didn't. Soon after i bought a dvd+r dl LG drive, by now i'm burning with clonecd, but everytime i tell my drive to burn on 2.4x he burns me automatically on 4x! Therefore, the disc skips and doesn't work well. I now bought a 60 dollar external LG drive. http://www.amazon.com/LG-GSA-E60L-Super-...e/dp/B000ZORKV8 And I have the same problem! It burns for me on 4x and my discs don't work. I've tried about everything and I'm running out of cash! Is it the drive? Is it not good? What am I doing wrong?!

Try uninstalling img burn and reinstall with the ImgBurn v2.4.4.0 latest edition. It should allow you to pick speeds. I use verbs Singapore I've burned all my backups at 8x never had a coaster.
the old one allowed me to pick speeds too. It just never did what I told it to do.. you burn at 8x? thats amazing I burn at 4x and all i get is coasters. What burner do you have?

yeah mine say they work on 2.4x but when i open up clonecd or imgburn and i tell the burner to burn on 2.4x he burns at 4x! I don't know what to do! It happens to me with two LG burners that I recently bought and they're both DVD+R DL compatible. What do I do?!

to be honest I have quite a bunch.. But I'll try to get a small sample of the new media and see if it works for me. Do all of you use the new media? And if so, does it work well?
If your burner supports the faster speed, burn it at that speed. A lot of the newer burners burn better discs when using the faster speeds. If your burner supports faster, burn it faster. Should work okay.
