Please HELP me!... i cant connect to Xbox live.. it keeps sayin * Can't connect to your network hardware. * ive tried restarting everything.. still nothin fixes it.. so im all out of ideas... i have a Bell router.. tha new white one... ive called Bell nd they cant seem to figure it out... im thinkin maybe... worst case.. is that tha pins where my ethernet cable goes.. are broken sumhow?... can sumone please help me fix this problem of mine.. thank u...

Be specific, what type of bell router is it? You are trying to connect via ethernet cable, right? If you search on google you will find lots of answers, also ring up microsoft live support... they usually do not know what they are talking about, but eventually you will get through to a person that knows what they are doing.

hey thx for replyin... but ya.. ive tried all that.. google... calling Live support... it only gives me answerin machines tryin to tell me wut to do.. not a live person ya know.. but ya.. im styll sooo lost... im thinkin it mite jus be tha port where tha ethernet cable goes into at tha bac.. but tha Bell Router is tha new one they tol me.. its white in color... it has tha name * 2Wire * on it...

Try a different Ethernet cable. Also make sure you have the latest firmware for your router. Some firmware are a pain to get live working and a simple upgrade solvestge problem.

lol, you have to press 1 or something to get a live person... make sure you're ringing up live support, it's a 24/7 hotline, so it should work

ahhhhhhhhhh dam... press 1 eh lol... k ima try again.. nd no i dont have my box modded... so i dunno wuts wrong with it.. nd wen i go into my router... it doesnt show that its connected wit tha xbox ya know? its weird.. cuz thats wut Bell tol me that it shud show me connecting.. so its a hardware issue.. so maybe i cud jus take it in to have it repaired sumwhere.. maybe its jus tha ethernet port itself at tha bac.. if they open it up maybe can fix it dat way..

Your router probably isn't compatible with live... with doesn't really matter... mine isn't either yet i can still connect. If you follow the voice prompts it will get you to a person try this phone number 1800 555 741 there's another 13 number, which i can't find atm... i'll try and find it and get back to you.

The 2wire isn't the problem. Same router I have and it works perfect for me. Make sure your cable is good first off. And the pins shouldn't be messed up unless you have plugged something in wrong before, but even then, its hard to mess them up.
Are you putting all the information in right? Sounds simple...but people have been known to mess it up.

Yeah, that's pretty easy to do, there's like 3-4 possible combinations for the IP address, subnet mask, etc. How it is expained on xbox.com is a lot easier then what it really is... especially if you have to do that port forwarding crap... i disable limewire by accident when i did it

hey Jcarlton... thx for replyin... since u have my same router... tha 2wire... nd urs works jus fine... hmmmmmmmm?.. very strange then.. cuz i even tried 2 ethernet cables i have.. they both work fine for connecting my laptop to get internet.. but not for my Xbox.. its not modded.. so ive done all tha steps correctly im sure of it.. nd u say tha pins in tha back couldnt be messed up.. then wut cud it possiblyyyy be?... i put tha configurations all to * automatic * .. nd it styll cums up tha same error msg... * cannot detect hardware * .. so im here thinkin tha only possible thing wrong is tha port where tha ethernet cable goes ya know.. but i dunno.. gettin frustrated.. maybe i shud jus have sum1 here to open up tha machine nd chek where tha ethernet goes.. since u have tha same router.. nd urs works i wonder....

don't put automatic for everything, you may need to manually enter the ip address etc. Here is the guide i used.

I suppose it is possible that the ethernet port is just messed up..I mean...microsoft sending out something bad, no ones ever heard of that right?
Try connecting your laptop to your xbox. Your laptop should detect Xbox even if your router can't. If it see's the xbox then try using Internet Connection Sharing. Here is one tutorial to do it. If that one isn't clear enough search around on here or google how to connect your xbox to live with a ICS connection.
Once again, if the laptop doesn't see the xbox, then I suppose it is very possible that you have a system that has a non-working ethernet port. Just hope thats the only problem the xbox ever gives you.
