Hey Guys,

SOrry for this nooob question. Im kinda new to this whole wii thing. Today I got my wii softmoddded to the latest version. And tried a game at his place and it worked fine

Now i downloaded 2 games (PAL, since my machine is also PAL) and burned them using imgburn, onto a DVD-R Verbatim. The game doesnt get accessed through the normal disc channel, but it does so through the the wii backup channel? could you please tell is this how its supposed to be or is somthing wrong?

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks

any game that is burned must be used via the backup channel. UNLESS you have a modchip.

ps2: v7 scph-39001 - independence exploit - hdloader 0.8c - maxtor 300gb hdd
(+[__]%) psp slim ta-085v1: 6.60 PRO B10
wii (powered by bootmii/priiloader): 4.1u - d2x v10beta53-alt (base 56) - configurable usb loader v70r51/devolution r188 - wd scorpio black 7200rpm 320gig w/ ams venus ds2 enclosure

got a whole lot more to list . . .

ahh thanks alot mate. i was getting a bit worried why it was not coming through the main disc window. So jsut to make sure for all softmodded wii machines the downloaded games can only be accessed via wii backup channel?..

ALso one last question. When I do paly trhough my backup channel the screen size kinda shriknks a bit (meaning that it does the take up the whole tv screen size like usual xbox or ps3 games) is this common? mine is a HD ready tv by the way.

hope you can clarify this

other members should be able to help you on that one, as i use usb loader to play my games.

You can boot via Disc Channel if you press B when in WiiGator which will reset the Wii with hooks. But this is kind of pointless since you have to do it each time you load a game.

There is a guide that recently was posted in the Wii section that shows you how to install files to boot from the disc channel. You might want to check that out HERE.

As for your TV issue. What setting do you have the screen set to in the video settings? 4:3 (Standard) or 16:9 Widescreen? Also check out what the TV resolution is set at.

As for the USB Loader why not do a little searching. This as well is plastered all over the forum and pretty much any other Wii forum you go to.

hey,

I chked up the widescreen setting and tried dffierent tv type settings (50Hz and 60 Hz) and it still doesnt change. But the weird thing is the game that came with the machine (wii sports and mario kart) both fit the screen perfectly.

I didn't realize you had a PAL system.

What region is the game?

This can happen with import games such as NTSC(U) or NTSC(J).

Boot into the WiiGator settings and force PAL.

Mine is a PAL system and the game is PAL too (unscrubbed version) tried forcing it, but still no luck. Anyways no worries. Must be something wrong with the tv setting or somthing. At least the games are palying. Thanks for the help. Appreciate it Big Time

smart idea 8ballwizz. I dnt think I hav a wad manager. Thanks for the idea. Cant belive no one has had this problem before lol must be the stupid tv. But no worries the the screen shrinkage is only a little bit and by looking from afar it doesnt seem so obvious. I can manage thanks again.

Well if hes just using backup loader then yes. There are other soft mods that allow loading through disk channel.
