I finally broke down and flashed my 360 last week. It is a BenQ drive with iXtreme 1.51.

Original games play fine on the system and burned games play fine on the system. So I'm pretty sure everything went ok.

My problem is this: When I first start up the 360, the information doesn't come up indicating what game I'm about to play. It just says 'Play DVD'. When I press 'A', it gives me the insert a 360 disc error. I turn off the 360, turn it back on and it works just fine. The game information shows up and the game starts with no problem. It does this with both original games and burned games.

Anyone have any idea why it's doing this? I wouldn't worry too much because the games play fine, but I'm kind of paranoid that it means something is wrong. Plus, it is really annoying.

Thanks!

I actually haven't burned any games yet. Borrowed one from a buddy that is confirmed working on his 360 (and mine actually). And, yes, it is verbatim and verified with abgx 360. Not sure about the speed though.

The problem isn't getting the games to work, they play fine. The problem is that the 360 won't initially recognize the disk. I have to restart the 360 for it to recognize the disk....after the restart it's fine. And that doesn't just apply to burned games either. My original retail 360 games are doing the same thing.

Drive laser is going bad. Do a Pot tweak calibration.

I have the same problem, my young son turns off the xbox sometime in mid game or at the end of a level, we have found that when this is done on he starts xbox again ejects and puts another game is it wouldn't read it, turn xbox off then, back on and it displays info and loads game fine....

Now if you exit the game, take game out and then turn off the xbox, then the next game when you turn xbox on displays correctly and plays fine.

I don't think its to do with the Mod.

Torry

Mines has been doing it for over a year when turned off as above, not Pot calibration.

Thanks PS2Menace and Torry46.

I don't think it's the laser going bad because i just got this box back from MS on a repair......although it wouldn't surprise me if they sent it back partially fixed.....bastards!

The pot calibration looks pretty tough, at least for me, so I'll hold off for now. The problem isn't game breaking, more of an annoyance than anything, but I'll just deal with it I guess.

Thanks.
