Guy's, I really need some help here. I've got a stock Benq drive which i've got hooked up to my p.c using one of the VIA SATA pci cards. This was fine. When launching JungleFlasher it picked up the drive connected successfully and when I selected unlock it came back with the message that the drive was in Vendor mode 0x73.

With this I then went ahead and clicked on the Read button. However as my p.c is a little slow, during this process the 360 powered off and JungleFlasher froze. I powered the drive back up and had to terminate and relaunch JF. Even the though JF still see's the drive (Vendor: PBDS / Name: VAD6038-64930c ), if I try the Benq unlock command again I just get the message 'Benq unlock command returned an error'.

As soon as i acknowledge this, in the details window it show's the message:

.... error register:0x0 (MSB 00000000 LSB)

I then tried using the Intro/Device ID function but this seems to always fail as well.

Have I completely bricked the drive or can I recover this somehow?

Plug in the video cable next time you try. Do a complete reboot of the computer and try again.

Hi Menace.

Tried plugging the HDMI cable into the 360. Rebooted the p.c and launching JF. Again it could see the Benq drive however when trying the unlock button again the status shows sending Magic Keys to drive, and then a few seconds later I get the same message 'Benq unlock command returned an error'.

Would appreciate any further advice. Pulling my hair out here :) Sorry if i'm being a complete noob here.

I've got the same error and the VIA driver, I believe, is causing the error.

1. Disable your VIA card in the device manager.
2. Go to C:/WINDOWS/system32/drivers and remove the "viamraid.sys" or "vsmraid.sys".
3. Re-enable your VIA card in device manager.
4. Re-Boot PC.
5. Load up JF, select same S-ATA port, and re-send the BenQ unlock.

The VIA driver is more than likely causing the error when the BenQ Unlock tries to by-pass the firmguard of the BenQ.

BenQ's are hard to brick. Did you do an intro, then read, then write, then outro? Did you rename the drivers in c:\windows\system32? If you don't, freezing will happen.
