I have:
-CFW 5.00 m33-6 Fat
Plug-ins Installed
-popsloader.prx
-cxmb.prx
-cwcheatpops.prx
-cwcheat.prx
-vsh.txt
Here is my problem, when I turn on the PSP, the UMD drive is reading or spinning w/ no disc on the drive. (I tried to open the empty UMD drive tray, the circle icon disappears, and when closed the circle icon appears) The only thing shown on the screen is the "waves background", (original theme) and an animating "circle icon" on the bottom-right corner of it. The XMB doesnt appear. I tried to wait for some time, and my custom theme worked, only to see that the screen is sorta fading/shaking. Then after a while, the message "Disc cannot be read" appears (theres no disc on the drive), and thats the only time when i was allowed to turn the PSP off. (yes, while the circle icon shows, it isnt possible to turn it off.)
**(Recovery Mode) I tried disabling the cxmb plug-in for i thought that the cxmb must be corrupted, but still, it didnt change things when i turned my psp on at first.
**Second time I turned it on (w/o plug-ins), it was normal. So I think there is something wrong with the PSP hardware.
Another problem is that, when I am about to start playing ISO games, it just suddenly asks "Do you want to quit this game?", (like the home button activates itself without me pressing it. It happens multiple times) The 'Home' key doesn't seem to be stuck.
**I used a different MMC, which has emulators in it. I still had my first problem, but the home button didnt appear. It seems that there is a problem with the UMD reader too.
Is there a way to fix this? I've heard others had experienced this problem as well. Thanks!

Sounds like a sensor has gone on the UMD drive - it is seeing a disc when none is present.
You could try looking in the drive for an optical sensor or a small microswitch if it is dusty get a can of pressurised air and give it a clean out.
If one of the buttons is int. sticking - you can get a replacement button foil for a few dollars - quite easy to replace

I tried inserting a disc and everything was back to normal. Some told me that a PSP repair shop could fix it.
@Mickoz74: Yea i tried that and it seemed to be a-ok now. :D thanks a lot.
@kittymat: All cleaned out (: and no the keys are all okay
EDIT:
The problem still persists. >.< Should I just have a PSP repair shop fix this?

You can buy a complete UMD drive, if the unit is still seeing discs all the time then that is the main suspect. However it is a major strip down to replace, read plenty of guides
http://www.llamma.com/PSP/PSP%20Repair%20Information.htm
This one should start you off but it is not one of the best

@Mickoz74: YouTube has guides, but there are guys who had the same problem as mine with no solution xD
@kittymat: at certain times it doesnt, but after a reboot it does malfunction again. Inserting a UMD was a temporary fix. Thanks I have read that guide before. Is it true that using a key cleaner would help? :/
