www.promods.com.au

Bought a modded arcade 360 from them for $399, so it was $100 for the mod as arcades go for $299 here in Australia.

At EB, a pre-owned console with a 20GB HDD is $249 pre-owned. They don't sell them without HDDs pre-owned, so let's just say a pre-owned arcade is $249.

Now, after a month the 360 I bought got the 3 red lights, it was under warranty, so I sent it in for repair (the postage was at my expense).

They say they are waiting for motherboards and it's been two weeks and I want my 360 so I proposed this to him -

I said logically, he'd sell a pre-owned modded 360 for $349 (249 for the console, $100 for the mod). I told him to keep my console, send me a new one and I'd pay the $50 difference, cause obviously he gets $349 back from my old console and then I give him $50 to cover the difference, right?

He said he didn't understand my logic and that he'd get the boss to call me back.

Am I crazy, or is he?

He kept saying that EB only gives you $100 for trading in an arcade, and I tried to explain that he won't sell the 360 for the trade-in price, but the full price hence he is reimbursed entirely (except for the price of the motherboard he has to replace, but that was going to be on him anyway since it's under warranty and replacing the motherboard is being done at his expense).

Your thoughts?

Edit: I know he's got profit on the brain so the question is, should he make money off me twice in a month?

guy who finally found a place that sells air in a can

Edit: Issue resolved. The 'director of the company' authorised a new console to be sent out at no charge. He sent me an apologetic email too. Awesome.

i was gonna say they had to eat the cost of repair in order to resell the one you sent back. so i was urprised to see they are working with you like that. good deal

If you send me questions on Live about modding or anything related i will block you. Dont be an idiot.

The only explanation I can come up with is that they don't want trouble.

When I originally sent it for repair he said 'we look after our pre-mod customers above all others, for obvious reasons....', maybe the reason is the legality of their business is *cough* questionable *cough*

He's in australia, it costs like atleast $70 to get it modded over here... which is like $37 in America, so it isn't that bad.
