1020 wad error on firmware 4.0e using wad manager 1.4

Can anyone help me with this.... when trying to install some wads (super punch out pal being the latest) i am getting a 1020 error and am unable to install it.... i have seen a quide to fix this if you use the 3.4 firmware but will i damage my wii if i try this when i am using 4.0?

I also tried using the new wad manager and it allows you to choose which IOS you use to install the wad... is there a particular one i could try to use to get around this error?

Do you have a cIOS installed?

If not go HERE and follow this guide. You need to have the Homebrew Channel installed. After following the guide you should be able to install WAD/cIOS again.
