Hi,

Just purchased Krypview A750, trying to flash the box used anull
modem cable, serial port to serial port followed the tutorial instructions and end up with the same error message - 'The Downloading is not requested', checked the port settings, all ok, pins not damaged, to confirm it wasn't the cable i used it on starview and it flashed straight away...Have reviewed forums and tried all the suggestions!

Frustrated...Can anyone help ASAP please?

Thanks..

Its a mattter of timing. especially if your using a usb to serial port n a null modem cable, hit the on switch on Kview 2 secs before download, trial n error, it works but make sure u have correct port on PC connected!

whoooo arent you one of the lucky ones to get that to work maybe you should do a tutorial for the people trying to get it to work 99% of people will never get VISTA to work for them

My advice is not to use VISTA and use XP only as it is far simpler to use and more user friendly

I'll do up a list of a few pointers in turning off some of the stupid stuff in vista that may interfer with flashing, using a mac at the moment so will do it during the week when i'm on the other laptop

I have tried Windows XP and Windows Vista and I am getting the same messagae "the downloading is not requested".

I have a USB to 9 inch RS232 cable connected from my laptop. I am selecting Com port 4.

I have tried waiting a few seconds after the reboot of the box but that does not seem to be doing the trick.

Thanks.

if you are 100% you are doing it correctly.
ie.selecting download with the box powered off, then flick it back on.
and its still not working, see my second post, think that was what was wrong with the ops box

I have tried multiple times clicking "start" with the power off then powering the box on and then the error message appears .

Is there anyway to double check that com 4 is correct ? Every other com port displays an error message so I assume 4 is correct .

Also, do you think I would have more luck by buying a different cable and not using the USB port ?

Thanks

Yes, I am using those 2 wires.

I am ensuing the box is off before I click "start".

Com port 4 is the only port where an error message does not appear when I click start. I have opened device manager on Windows XP, where are the com port numbers displayed in there?

Thanks for your help.

Problems with your PC/Laptop not recognising your box.

To see which port your USB adapter is connected to, connect your USB adapter and follow the following instructions:

1. Go to the Start Menu
2. Right click on "My Computer"
3. Select "Properties"
4. Click on the "Hardware" tab
5. Click on "Device Manager"
6. Click the + sign next to "Ports (COM & LPT)"
7. One of the listed ports should indicate which port your USB adapter is connected to (e.g. COM1, COM2, COM3, etc.)
8. Go back to your map software program that you use to transfer data and make sure it is looking at the correct port.
9. You should be able to transfer data once the correct port is selected

If you need drivers go here

http://www.gilsson.com/usb_drivers_download.htm

Follow my advice to step 7. Locate your USB Adapter (port *)

Right click on that port and select properties. Then select port settings, then select advanced. At the bottom of that tab will be a drop down box with the port selected (port * in your case). Use the drop down to select another port (eg 1, 2 or 3). If the port you want to use is already allocated to something else, you can use the same procedure to reassign that port after you have finished.
Save the selections in the usual way. The USB converter will be permanently assigned to the port you selected.

Thanks again for your help.

On my Vista laptop, Device Manager confirmed that I was correctly selecting com port 4. Still no joy.

On my very old XP laptop, when I go into Device Manager, there is no " Click the + sign next to "Ports (COM & LPT)" . There is a list of items but none called "Ports (COM & LPT)" or similar.

I am going to borrow a mates XP laptop at the weekend and give it a go there.
