What needs to be done in order to update my Samsung drive to the newest firmware ?

Hi everyone, I'm a newbie to the forums and after seeing all the helpful people I figured I'd give this a shot. Basically my problem is this: I originally had a friend flash my 360's Samsung drive a few months ago (I haven't opened it recently so I'm not sure exactly which Sammy drive it is). Anyway, he's now moved away and I no longer have contact with him so I'm not sure what needs to be done in order to update my 360 to the newest firmware. I've just seen that most of the new games coming out are Wave3 and my current setup won't play those.

I'm familiar with disassembling the console and I consider myself pretty computer literate so I'm confident that with the right direction and detailed instructions I can learn to flash/upgrade my own console. Also, I haven't had this pc too long so I haven't opened it yet but some online specs say I have this: Four Serial ATA (SATA) connectors. Is that what I need or is there a specific version?

Does anyone have any advice or info that may be helpful to my cause. Also, since I'm not the one who originally flashed my drive, I don't have the original/factory backup files.. will this pose a major problem?

read the tutorials. The jungleflasher tutorial will tell you everything you need, and describe all the steps to take.

you should be good to go... the first step is to determine exactly what kinda drive is in your xbox 360 ... google for info about opening the xbox up... its quite tricky.

really you just need to do a lot of reading cause there's a lot to learn about the whole flashing process... then come back on here when you run into trouble or have more specific questions. good luck with it.
