Powering dvd drive with the xbox

I am powering my dvd drive with the xbox and am trying to flash it, however how do I quickly switch it off and on during the flashing process, do I use the external 360 power button or do I have to quickly unplug then replug the dvd drive itself. By the way I am using a ck3 pro but dont have a molex power source.

I've necer used a CK3 but, when powering off and quickly on I use the normal power switch at the front of the Xbox. works for me.

unplug the power from the dvd drive is the proper method when power cycling
