I have a BenQ flashed to 1.4x
I connected the SATA cable to my 360 and my SATA card with the VIA chipset.
I open the tray, unplug the power lead, close the tray halfway, then plugged the power lead back in.
I manually installed the PortIO32.exe, and when I click on the .exe file, it says PortIO32.exe been installed.
Then I open up JungleFlasher.
it gives me an Windows - Drive Not Ready "Exception Processing Message c00000a3 Parameters 75b6bf7c 4 75b6bf7c" error. I click on "Continue," and I click on MTK Flash 32. It says MTK vendor Vendor Intro failed when I click on Intro/Device ID
What am I doing wrong?

Try leaving the tray closed, open up JF, and select the proper SATA port. Then send the Intro, it will prompt you to power cycle the drive. That should get you into vendor mode (0x73).

How do I know which port to use? The default is 0xEC00, and the drop down has 3 other choice.

You will see the drive properties in the left hand corner if you have selected the right port. On my VIA card, I also have 0xEC00 and that is the S-ATA port closest to the front of the PC.

The guide is kinda vague. Someone told me you have to have your original .bin file loaded on your 360 before you can even start Jungle Flasher. Is this true? Nowhere in the guide does it mention this.

No that is not true.
Do you get anything in the drive properties when you go through the VIA ports?

Still nothing. I left the drive closed like you said and opened up JF. Went to MTK Flash 32 and nothing. clicked in Intro, asked me to resend and it still does not see it.

Once you load up JF, if you aren't seeing anything in the drive properties on all S-ATA ports, you might have a problem with PortIO.
I would give DosFlash 1.7 (DosFlash32) a try. You should be able to use DosFlash to read/write and you can use JF to spoof.

Damn I just messed up. The PC froze while JungleFlasher was erasing the firmware...
Now the DVD drive won't open.

the DVD drive is working now, but it's giving me
"to play this disc, put it in an xbox 360 console"
on any disc, including the original copies that aren't burned.

If this is the orginial drive, then it probably has no firmware. Start over and flash it again and post back.
