Hey I am trying to switch out the keys in my 2 benq drives. I can get it into vendor mode with the half open tray trick. But then I got to read the drive and I get the 0xf3 error. Also, right after I click the intro ID button, and it brings up all the info, then it freezes for a second. If I click intro ID again it will give me the 0xf3 status error as well.
The benq is flashed with ixtreme 1.51, which seems to be the problem. On my other benq, I just flashed it with the firmware then I tried to see if I could read it and got the same problem.
im kinda getting the same problem, i flashed the drive to ixtreme 1.51, when i tested it out an worked for a little bit then i got a rrod, so i connected the xbox back to the pc, i was able to put the drive into vendor mode, but when i tryed to read the drive i pretty much got the same error as you
I know if you have a Benq and 1.51 on it, there is no need to put it in vendor mode again, especially when you are ready to upgrade to 1.6
When you load up JF or another program, it should put it in vendor mode by itself. Try doing that without the half tray or vcc trick.
Also try DosFlash 32 windows gui. I had problems with JF, but Dosflash 32 works perfect.
I have tried loading up JF without using the half open tray. It usually is not in vendor mode, but if I do the tray trick, then close the tray, it will still be in vendor mode I think until I unplug the power. But even when it is in vendor mode it cannot read the drive, just gives me the 0xf3 status.
