so once i gave up i reconnected the drive, but had no more rrod, intill i tryed to play a game, game locks up and goes into rrod. thanks to anyone who coulld help me out with this
Thats what i was starting to think, but still seems like its something with the dvd drive, because now i can't read the drive at all, an i get that error everytime. so im not 100% sure. cause say if i did stress the board, jungleflasher should still be able to read the drive considering the only think the drive is useing off the board is the power. and im still able to open the drive. and put into vendor mode
Well, then you have two problems. Does it read discs? Are you following the JF guide? Are you sure you flashed it? The drive and RROD are two separate things and are not related.
the screen turning pink(video problem) and then getting rrod is a direct indication something is wrong with the graphics chip, nothing to do with drive.
i know i flashed the drive. was able to play hawx for about five mins, and one thing i did notice, if i unplug the xbox for a while then come back it doesn't have a rrod anymore, and i can play a game off the harddrive no problem, but right when i put in the disk in it will play for about 5 mins then go rrod, i still wanna believe that there is something going on with the rom itself due to the fact i only get the rrod when playing a disk, and the also being able to put the xbox into vendor mode but not able to read
turning it off and waiting awhile is letting it have time to cool down thats all. you turn it on and play a game for a bit till it heats up then it gets rrod again.
