Right, i have connected my ps3 to a media server type thing but i want to copy it from the media server to my external hdd connected to my ps3. Make sense? Whenever i go into the media server on the ps3 and try to copy it starts copying to the ps3 hdd which i dont want it to go ther but on my external connected to the ps3 instead.

Not sure if you can do that.

Why not just connect your External HDD to your PC and copy directly and then connect to your PS3 later?

yea iv kind of sorted something out, I've got 2 hdds and just unplug the one from the ps3 and my pc and connect it to pc with other cables. saves pisn around with unplugging from cabinet etc. I'll just have to put up with it for now. Thanks anyway
