Whats up peepz. I haven't been on here in quite awhile but I like these forums the most out of those I have read recently. I have modded an original xbox before so i have some experience in doing so. But my main question is this:

What is the difference between updating the firmware or just getting a mod chip and soldering it in. The soldered one is a globe 360 v.2 which has an on/off switch so that tells me that you would still be able to get onto xbox live. Now does the fw update allow for xbox live play? Can you play burned games online also? I would like to install a bigger hard drive too if possible. Please inform me if this is possible or at least lead me to sources that can help.

very few people use mod chips anymore... read up on flashing your xbox 360

I have read about firmware but i don't fully understand how its done. I also would like to know if you can still play burned games on xbl with the firmware in place, or can this only be done with an actual modchip. Can anyone supply a link or something, as im sure you have all discussed this a billion times. Sorry if what im asking is repetitive, but im kinda lost with how its done. Thanks guys..

wel you definitely need to search, because your questions have been answered multiple times before.

But you can play on live with a hacked firmware. Just look it up. Look up the jungleflasher tutorial. It is a guide on how to flash your 360 to play backups.
