HBC problem with installation

Managed to install the HBC with twilight hack but it wouldn't recognise backup discs, although still allows originals to be played. Deleted the HBC and tried to reinstall but it's not bringing up the twilight hack? This is on a 3.3e. Can anyone help, it would be appreciated....would like to use HBC alongside emulators and apps as well as for backups for the little ones so they dont wreck my originals. As you can probably tell I'm a newbie to this so please go easy on me :)

So you installed the HBC, but did you do the other steps? Installing the cIOS and backup launcher?

Also, how were you trying to play the backup disks? Were you using the backup launcher or the disk channel? Because you cant launch them from the disk channel.

Ahhh! Ok, so I didn't finish. I went through the screen where you had to press 1 to accept the HBC/hack and had that installed....I didn't realise there were other steps needed after that. Yes, I had been trying to get the backups to work from the HBC and not from the disk launcher....I don't think that was one of the apps that was there. I know Gecko didn't work, but that wasn't an issue at the time...so not that it was an installation problem then...more an inexperienced mess up by me...ops.

Can I start over again now I've formatted it, and can you recommend a start to finish dummies guide for me please?

Once homebrew is installed how do i update it? im on version 1.0.1 and i saw that there is a 1.0.2 now. An update screen came up when i first modded my wii but i clicked on "no" for the update. but now i want to update and dont know how. My connection is initialized and when i click on the little globe at the bottom right hand corner it doesnt do anything. Help! Thanks

This is IMO the best guide out start to finish (Read It all BEFORE you start)
