Awesome find, I picked it up on demonoid earlier this morning. I originall flash my BenQ to ixtreme v1.5 when the firmware was firt released. I remember I had a hell of a time trying to figure out which port to use on my ASUS A8N Deluxe mobo. I have burned the iso image to a disc so at this point I simply need to boot from the cd and enter my port and the firmare is installed basically automatically? Just wanting to get an idea of how it works before I tear into my xbox.
Thanks fellas!

Right on, I didnt look at the disc after I burned it. Simple enough, I will post back my results later this week. I need to read up more on this update but this will allow wave 3 games to be played and updated via live without being banned as easily if using 1.5 with patch to wave 3?

If this is all legit, and works fine, why doesn't everyone use this method rather than opening the bloody thing which is a pain.
I had iXtreme 1.5 believe which I did myself, but if a disk works then why not use that instead!

you still have to open the 360 and get the drive out
this disc does not go in the 360 drive it is a boottable disc for the computer

Stupid me. My fault for not reading the thread fully. Much easier this way though?

if you already have jf installed and stuff that might be faster. for me its quicker as i dont use my regular desktop to mod but an old dell that is just for flashing drives. So it is usually off and i can just turn it on with the disc in and boot straight to the mod disc. I havent tried it for a lite on yet, i still use JF for that and when i need to spoof a drive i use JF as well. But any benq or samsungs i use the disc usually.

Do you need to have a VT6421 card to use this method? I flashed my benq with v1.4 using the raid ports on my mobo.

def better than iprep. JF is better than iprep i think too. i had problems getting certain versions of iprep to dump keys. also iprep is more time consuming if you have to go into windows a prepare a boot disk/drive then reboot to that drive and so on.

Attemped to flash my v1.41 BenQ drive today use the mod disc but could not get the right port.
I am using an ASUS A8N SLI Deluxe mobo and Vista 64.
-Motherboad has onboard Silicon SATA
I identified my port as discussed in the readme but after trying all available I am still not getting communication from the drive.
I connected my powered on xbox to the BLACK SATA 2 connection on my mobo, leaving the HD connected to SATA 1 booted the mod disc and provided the 9000-9007 SATA on COM 1 and after the save screen I receive a wrong port error.
I then went to bios and disabled NVraid and disabled the SATA ports but still no luck.
ideas?

I dont think its always the top port, as when i checked the port in jungle flasher it gives the second one down!! Try checking in jf and then look back in your device manager to see if your port is there, presuming you have port io installed?

okay, let me xplain what i do clearly.
i got the iso file form xbins, burned it with Alochol, and booted up the pc with it. when its loading, theres an error:
Error: Unable to control a20 line
XMS Driver Not installed
then i get the credits and says press any key to continue... so i do.
then more credits, press any key to continue, i do it again, now its asking for sata card port, i put 1460 (according to tutorial thats my sata part) when i click enter i get an error:
Cannot open T:\SATA.BAT
then theres a confirmation screen that says
Port '' set successfully for your VT6421 Sata card
this is where im like WTF? if i put 1460 then why is it coming out as empty.
so im like ok fuck it let me go on.. i do, i get the lite on com port i select my port (1) press enter and i get another error
Cannot open T:\COM.BAT
so i say ok? let me keep going.. and i do..
i get the screen where i select my drive (LITEON)
then its asking for folder name to save files etc..
i type xbox360friend
then i get error
cannot open t:\lonfile
Folder already exsist
or something like this
and from here its always a loop. i cant get pass this part.
