hey everybody, like most people i don't want to open my computer just to hack my 360. So I been seeing a couple of people saying that you can use a usb to sata cable. And I wouldn't mind buying that, then to risk my computer. SO is this possible to do on a Hitachi drive. Thanks
Yes. I personally have flashed the earlier Hitachi models (eg. 59DJ. 46DG, 47DH) with a USB to SATA adapter.
No. However, the later Hitachi models (eg. 78FK & 79FK) will not work with a USB to SATA adapter.
Ok how do I know what version i have. I know its a hitachi just don't know what version, I know it was produced before 2008. And does the new NXE block this hack.
Your model will be displayed on the label attached to the top of the drive. This being said, your 360 needs to be opened in order to determine which model you have.
No, NXE will not prevent (block) you from modifying your drive.
*The model number is found around the barcode above the big yellow box on the label. :-)
Ok so I'll open it, I already got the screws so thanks I wish I can do something to help you. So if it's not compatible then I'll find a spare. Computer. Again thanks
