This link HERE has a few other USB Loader GX videos. By far the best out yet in my opinion.

This is the theme I use.

can you auto download all missing 3d covers with that one?

Also can you auto update the actual app through the network on that one?

I'm asking cause I don't know.

I haven't got into the auto-update yet so I have no idea.

I already had the 3D covers when using GUI-FX so I just transfered them to the USB Loader GX (editing file name and deleting the -3D part of the cover title).

But you can get most 3D covers and disc labels HERE. The default cover size is 160X225 so you need to change that to 160X224.

You can auto download the disk and game images. I deleted all images and both PAL and NTSC was downloaded correctly. As far as apps i have not seen any auto update as far as USB loader.

gui-fx has an auto updater for the actual app. And I don't have to do any resizing or renaming for the covers. It goes online and gets all that for you.

HERE is the forwarder.

Install the WAD file.

Create a folder named "usbloader" in the apps folder on the SD Card.

Then place whatever application (.dol file) you want to boot in the usbloader folder and the forwarder will boot it.

Thanks guys, I installed both just to play with them. Couple more questions for ya

1. Does this allow you to rip straight from wii DVD to HD? (without the use of a PC)

2. Is uninstalling the channel just a matter of deleting it in the wii system menu or is there something else I need to do?

3. Larry, how do you have your themes set up? I followed the instructions in the readme modifying the config file that came with the forwarder to point to where I installed my theme (black) but it didn't seem to apply cause the loader is using generic theme.

answer:
1) yes it allows yout to RIP games but you need to unlock first: default is ab121b
2) Removing the channel can be 2 approach - by using the Wii you have mentioned and using WAD manager pressing "-"

3 for the theme: download and extract the theme you want then put in the SD card then set the loader theme folder to /theme/folder/

Like what i did for my kids i used disney: /theme/disney/
you have to reset the loader to accept the changes. ben10 did not work for me.

Been working on a theme so sorry I haven't been around to respond Kafluke but it looks like fiber32 took care of you.

Anyway here is my first attempt at making my own theme.

When the WiiMotes get low on the battery the traffic light should go from green to red.

1 will install the USB Loader GX straight to your Wii (no need for the forwarder since the application is boot from Wii System memory and not SD Card apps directory).

The other is a forwarder that will boot USB Loader GX from the SD Card apps directory.

Allot of users like the forwarder due to the application being in beta stage and is updated all the time. So it is easier to replace the update on SD Card then it is to uninstall the loader from the Wii internal memory then reinstall the updated version to Wii internal memory.

I still can't get themes to work and I don't see any settings for download covers.

This is how I use the themes.

I have a folder named wtheme on my SD Card.

I then create a folder with a short name describing the theme. I then place the theme files into the theme folder. After that i transfer the theme folder to the wtheme folder on the SD Card.

Example:

Dale Jr:

dalejr is the name of the theme folder. So under settings for theme path I type SD:/wtheme/dalejr/ (do not forget the / at the end if it isn't there then it will not load your theme).

I downloaded a couple of example themes from HERE.

Invader ZIM:

invader is the name of the folder. So under settings for theme path I type SD:/wtheme/invader/ (do not forget the / at the end if it isn't there then it will not load your theme).

GH World Tour:

ghwt is what I named the folder. So under settings for theme path I type SD:/wtheme/ghwt/ (do not forget the / at the end if it isn't there then it will not load your theme).

I like doing it this way because you can keep all your themes contained in 1 folder and the SD:/wtheme/ path will stay the same. You will just have to change the theme folder part of the path.

Click on the boxart icon to get the menu to come up so you can download covers/3d covers/dvd covers.

Where did you get it from? That video doesn't tell you the name of the file so I can't even do a google search for it.

Ok so I'm sold on USB Loader GX but I'm having troubles finding the box art and covers for my games. Thats a feature that I really miss from GUI-FX, the ability to just click on "download covers" and have it go fetch them for me.

I don't mind doing it manually but I'm having troubles finding them online. And when I have found some they won't show up for some reason.
