I have a 0047dj Hitachi drive. It is currently powered by the 360 and hooked via sata to my pc. I have tried using the slax disc to get into mod b. I have been unsuccessful so far and was wondering if I was possibly missing something. I have heard a have to open my disc tray and unplug the power as it closes and a bunch of other stuff that hasn't worked. I would consider trying the 2 wire trick but i am having trouble finding a good guide on youtube or google. Any advice on getting slax or two wire or any other way to get into mode b would be great.

I have had the middle light flash like crazy (which i think is a sign of mode b, but windows would not recognize it. I have seen the drive pop up a few times on the boot menu before I open windows. I have been working on this since 2 PM yesterday (with some breaks) and have been stuck in this same spot for a while

Use Jungleflasher. Go to the Hitachi tab and hit "send modeB"

thanks for the responce. Do you know if it works with vista 32 bit. Whenever I try it goes not responding. My pc isn't bad and i installed the 1o32 thing

Yes it will work in vista just fine, I flash all my boxes in Vista, and it's 32-bit as well. It's 64-bit that it has issues with. If you have UAC turned on in Vista (the pop up warnings when you install something), you need to right-click on JungleFlasher and click Run As Administrator. See if that speeds up the process.

When booting the computer, it will freeze when showing the loading screen for Windows. Just give it time, and it will eventually get to the Desktop, it just takes longer cause the 360 drive is connected.

So don't go rushing into JungleFlasher right when you get into the Desktop, give it sometime to make sure everything is running!

tried it, the drives middle green light starts flashing like mode b but still no pc recognition. JungleFlasher still freezes up but I am leaving it open to see if anything changes. When i open flashjugler it says "no comports were found during this enumeration"

Are you pressing eject on the xbox when using slax when it says spinning up disk?

Try booting pc with drive closed, i know it sounds silly but its all down to timing, as you boot open tray and insert slax then close drive, give it about 2 seconds and then switch on xbox, keep watching for spinning up disk, it should say it

alright guys, thanks for all you help, Snowmans trick in combination with putting my 360 into a sata drive that actually worked made windows recognize it. I think I have flashed it but am not entirely sure. I just went down the little list of things on flash jugler
