I have been able to burn my backups with imgburn quite well until recently, when now all I get is an imgburn error stating a peripheral device write fault. I know my matshita drive isn't the best but I am using MIS Verbatim discs. Here is my imgburn log:

Is my drive just crap or can someone else see another possible problem? You will notice I am doing this whole process with a mac through vmware fusion.
I also have a Lacie TSSTcorp SH-W162L DL external drive (Samsung I believe), but have never been able to get it work with imgburn. If my matshita drive has crapped out I would prefer to use my external drive but not sure how to get it to work with imgburn as it has produced only coasters in the past. Not sure if I have to do anything special to get it working since I'm using vmware fusion.
i also have the same problem... with the new games wave 3 only.... wasnt able to burn MLB 09...any suggestion or sticky to burn the new games...please help
I have them stored in a shared folder that can be accessed by vm for xp, but I have had no problem burning via the shared folder until now so it just made me think it could be the drive. I am also using vm version 2.
I'll try putting the files to be accessible only by xp and maybe even try a dvd drive cleaning disc. I'll report back with my results.
I finally got around to some more burns and it doesn't look good.
I moved all the files from my shared folder directly to xp and I'm still getting the device write fault. Seems like the matshita drive may finally be done for.
In regards to my external dvd burner, I tried setting the booktype and all that stuff back when I tried to get it to work but it would only produce open tray copies. Perhaps I am missing something with the settings in imgbrun. It seems like most, if not all, dl dvd burners should be able to get the job done, especially since I believe my lacie drive is actually a samsung. Any suggestions on how I can get my lacie to burn copies without getting the open tray error?
