Is that possible? I know both flashing and mod chips have risk to them and I was wondering if there was a way to play my burned xbox 360 games.(their not backups)

Downloading games are illegal and its best not to discuss that here. Now on the subject of playing your own backups, you need a modified firmware to read those disks. An unmodified 360 will only read games that are factory pressed.

Man, you are basically asking the exact same thing as this thread:

how to play burned xbox 360 games w/o mod

If you modify it wrong, then you have a dead drive, or like they said in the other thread, if it's not too bad you can just re-flash it!
