I was wondering if this game is safe to play. It's not released ti9ll 5/22, but yet it's in the abgx database. How does that work?

@ gameover9
If you have a copy which verifies, then you're as safe as you'll get. Many retail outlets sell games before their release date. IGN has the release dated as tomorrow, the 19th.

Sounds good. Not really a newb question if you never play games before the release date. I also heard UFC is awesome! Thanks for the replies!

Playing games before release dates has been debated quite abit, though not recently.
If a store were to sell a game early (and it happens A LOT), that's not the buyers fault and MS can't ban them for it. The worse case scenario is the servers for the multiplayer may not be up yet. And normally, the games which get sold early are only by a few days or so.
But there has also been a few instantances where review copies were released over the web. Review copies of Gears 2 and Fallout 3 hit the web about a month before their official release date. A review copy is a version of the game which is sent out to people/sites for reviewing. These versions disconnect the 360 from LIVE.
Now, if people are playing these copies early, then they're just asking to be banned. Besides being logged off of LIVE, these games weren't even shipped to retailers yet. It was quite easy for MS to see people with modded consoles, and some did get banned. Though not everyone.
Is the game any good? It looked good in the videos.

I actually set it to burn this morning before I left for work. I might just wait to put it in until the 22nd to be on the safe side, but was more curious since it was already in ABGX's database.

terminator isnt as good as the video made it look. you can tell they had to rush to finish. the graphics give that away. peoples mouths either dont move at all when they talk or they are way off sync. the movement and controls seem good though.
If you send me questions on Live about modding or anything related i will block you. Dont be an idiot.

It appears you are. This is the second time you've posted in this thread and contributed absolutely nothing towards the topic.
If anyone had the right to speak up about someone's comment, shouldn't it be the person the comment was directed towards? You took it upon yourself to play Sheriff.
And seeing how you just didn't want to let it be and move on, let me add that your own comment applies DIRECTLY to you. Quote: If you donīt want to reply correctly then donīt reply at all.
Like I said before, you felt the need to post your comment which was completely off topic and contributed nothing towards the thread. Which, I might as well add, violates yet another forum rule.
Forum rule #8
Don't reply with an off-topic comment/question.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not ragging on you. It's just that if you take personal offence towards everything you construe as being negative, especially comments not even directed towards you, then you're going to have a hard time in the forums. You'll find that even though you think you may be standing up for someone, people will turn on you very quickly. Peace.

Ah. I've only watched a couple of vids over on gametrailers, just a little gameplay. I suppose I'll give it a try soon. Lately I've been trying to finish off some of my old games. I'm just waiting for some good, new games. I'm a little burnt out on CoDWW so I needed a break.

As Iīm seeing it your doing exactly the same as me in this thread and that is saying that there shouldnīt be replyīs that are not relevant to the thread, yeah why go off-topic I understand that, but I donīt really understand the harm in telling a user that the person should not be replying to another user in a wrong way. Your basically doing the same right now after youīve been telling me that Iīm getting off-topic or breaking forum rules. So right now your telling me that Iīm breaking forum rules just because Iīm telling someone that it really isnīt necessary to reply in a non helping way. That doesnīt really sound right, does it?
And by the way, yeah you can reply back in a long message but that doesnīt mean that your right.

I'm not preaching, man. It's all cool. I'm just trying to give some friendly advice. Let's not get in to a "who's e-penis is bigger" match 8)
All of my posts are on topic. The difference is in them, along with the discussion, I added comment for you.
Maybe you were taking me the wrong way. I know what you were doing and I'm not saying it's wrong (ethically). You're just trying to tell others to make love, not war. Unfortunately, in forums, more often than not it just leads to all out flame wars, name calling, and yo'mama jokes. That's why the rules are in place.
So come on, lets all kiss and make up.
Aww... see. Now you got me. This post is completely off topic 8)

well the gameplay seems ok. to be honest the controls are smooth and i would compare them to gears of war without the ability to run or dash or leap with the A button. cover gets destroyed by the machines which is cool. strategy is defa part of the game cause some of the enemies are weak only on their backs so you have to flank a lot unless you just want to waste ammo and kill it eventually. the environments look cool. Its def has the terminator feel to it. I will be looking forward to the movie a lot, ive seen more movies in the theater this month than in the past year, wolverince 2 weeks ago, star trek this past weekend and now Terminator i must see this weekend. I also heard they have already signed on to make 2 more terminator movies after this one!!

One of the vids I seen did show it as having that Gears-cover style. It seems like these past couple games (XM-W & TS) are trying to break that movie-based video game = crap mold. If these games are even fairly-decent then that's a big step in the right direction.

yea i hope so. i saw a dev interview with wolverine and the dev said they were actually doing the game before the movie was even announced and when fox announced it they requested the script for the game be sent over. The Dev said Fox wont admit it but a lot of the elements in the movie came from the games script. Also when the movies release date got pushed back they were basically done with the game but they had been rushed so it still needed some polish so they went back and fixed all the bugs they could find mostly and added in several more levels and ideas they werent abel to before due to time limitations. one level they added was the whole fight with the sentinal.
I thought wanted wasnt too bad for a movie game which was made by the same people (grin) as the new terminator game, and also the new bionic commando(i dont like it much).

If you look at the verified file in ABGX, it states its from a "scene" release, not "retail"

If it's a scene release, wouldn't that mean it's still safe to use? I would assume they will update this when a retail is out. This is what I see:
626. Terminator Salvation (Region Free) (2B7F4651)
Where does it say scene release?

I thought this game didn't have any multiplayer options. So what would the point of it be to play online? So your friends can see you have the game early?

Run the .iso through ABGX, when it downloads the .ini file for the game, it'll show you.

Good to know. So is it not safe then even though it's in the database? If not, why is it even there?

I'm not sure if it's safe or not. The "scene" release was obtained from a retail disc. I've just never seen one verify with it being labeled as a "scene" release before.
I'm playing it now on my RE5 Elite, so if it's not safe I'll know sooner or later. :(

lol. I just don't understand why it would verify then. Wonder if they will update it soon? Still no signs of UFC either in the database.

Probably won't see UFC in the database until after release. What gets me about the database is some games can be out for weeks before they update the damn thing. I wish they had a feature in Xbox Backup creator that automatically updated the database of ABGX when someone ripped a retail copy of a game. It'd be in the database rather quickly if they could all get together and make that happen.

If the scene release was really ripped from retail and then the ss files were ripped from that they should be fine. The only other issue that would be worrysome would be what happened with Wolverine when it came out, the SS files were taken from a review copy and used in the abgx databse cause review copies are 99% of the time the same as retails as far as SS files go. This time that wasnt the case and they removed it from the DB and put it back when they had an actual retail verification. I played it with the review files so if they were indeed bad i will be looking at a ban sometime lol.
yea you would think the people ripping could just up the ss files at the sametime. i mean kill two birds with one stone. instead we have some people that upload game and tottally diff people will upload the SS.
i swear when 0800 ripping is ready i will be uploading ss files myself if no one else is going to. as long as i have the money to rent something and rip it i will do it if it means getting ss files a month sooner for some games. Ryo at 360patches asked me if i would be willing to do so and i said sure thing whenever we get 0800 dumping figured out for good with 1.6
