Thats about the cheapest. You can buy off e-bay, I've seen them cheaper on there, but I prefer to go the way of an online store myself.

what i would do is use jungleflasher,,,plug in the drive and plug the sata into the computer,,turn on the xbox start jungleflasher,,click vender intro,,,click yes,,unplug the power from the benq,,plug back in,,now your in vender mode,,if not try again until it goes in vender mode,,,

thanks 4 that coorva, but i believe your missing the point, the drive has no power at all, so how is JF gonna see it if its in this state,
i have tried every method of flashing for the last 6 months (look at the date i started this thread) all of which have been unsuccessful
so does anybody know of a link where i can get a benq vad6038 pcb ()

I've tried that in the past; just buying the pcb separate. For the time I wasted searching for one I would have been better off just spending the extra $10 and getting the whole drive.

Also, keep in mind that if you do find a Benq pcb, you'll have to solder it in. Some of the connections are hard wired, not ribbon cables.

I had thought I bricked an old Hitachi V46 by trying to Spoof the firmware with another and was not able to get into ModeB anymore. The way I got it to work was I had bought a Xecuter Blaster 360NE and this was able to get it into ModeB with the flick of a switch. After that was Done I was able to restore old firmware back and flash it successfully.
