Hello I was wondering if anyone knows a good place to buy blank media for Xbox 360 back ups in th Alton Il area?
I dont wanna say why online buying is not a option but let's not go there.
I use to buy the Office Depot brand DVD+R DL the ID was retike 01 but they said they stopped selling b/c they wasn't selling. Now all they sell is TDK media with a ID of Retaki S04-066 and those suck bad. My burner get's to 50% and then I get an error. If one knows a place to buy some decnt media in my area please post store and location.

Best Buy sells Verbs and so does Office Max. Which ever of those 2 that have the cheapest price is where I go if I have to buy locally.

I just found out Sams Club sells 50 packs for $59.something before tax Verbs MIS also. <----BEST DEAL i have seen retail.

Thanks for the info, I'm going to call today or go to office max. Thanks for the prices as well. That 50 pack sounds like a steal of a deal, but that suxs that there is no best buy in this one horse of a town Alton IL. Man I wish I still lived it Saint Louis(1hr away.)

Really, the store doesn't matter as much. I would just try to go for the highest quality. So if you can find any store that sells verbs, and it is a pretty good deal, just go with that.

Also, I know they suck but memorex is what i've been using. If you get desperate for cheap discs right now they do work, just not all of the packages. like anything in the purple box (10 pack) has always worked for me. But the 25pk and up spindles always hang at 50% in abgx. don't really know why but I can say that they don't make them in the purple box anymore. last time they did was 2008, but you can still find em for pretty cheap since there is large stock in places like radioshack and target. Like 10 dollars.

You're probably burning your games too fast. I've never used anything other than memorex and I buy only the 25pk and the 50pks (usually because they're on sale for less than a dollar a disc) and I've never coastered a single backup. I have several friends to support my claims and all of them have done the same thing.
ABGX > Mulleter; dont waste your time with anything else.

I actually just bought a 10 pack of memorex just the other day. They were at Radioshack. I also use the 50 pack and have never burnt a coaster. There is like one game that has trouble loading up but once it does it works fine. You can great deals on the memorex at amazon.

Futureshop (in Canada) has been having Verbs on sale every couple months - almost half price. I think a 30 piece case was about $40. Stock up when they're cheap - good luck!

This is bad advice to be telling people. Again, everyone, VERBS are the media that you should use. Yes, these cheaper discs might work, but they will wear your laser out faster. Use verbatims.

i would agree. if you dont mind using the money saved on discs to buy a new drive at some point then i guess it evens out in the end with some hassle and headache :)

I don't know if we have one off hand. But a lot of what we base that information off of is from is our own experience and others in the scene. And it is definitely widely accepted that Verbs are the best, and are what you should use.
A specific article, don't know if there is one.

Sorry about the above I'm still new at using and posting on forums. To Deny360, your probably right about burning too fast because my drive will only burn at 4x speed (slowest). But when I use the 10pk they allways work perfect, no hangups in abgx or anything. and I scan all my discs after burning. also, it could be my drive, its a optiarc drive. But like I said originally, I only suggested them if he was desperate for media now. I would not recommend them if you can get good media elsewhere.
