Hey Guys,

Recently I bricked my BenQ drive by putting the power cable in the wrong way round into the ck3 pro kit whilst trying to flash ixtreme 1.6 with Jungle Flasher ..

I since have ordered a new BenQ drive from ebay.. and await its arrival..

Now what I need to ask you guys is this the proceedure to follow:

1 - Place the OF of my Benq (which I bricked) into the tab.. then place the ixtreme 1.6 in the target tab and spoof

2 - go to the MTK32 tab and then click on vendor mode and then click on write

is this all I need to do? do I need to do the power recycle thing or not ? I did not do a power recycle on my cousins benq and it flashed fine..

Also do I need to unlock this new drive and save the key or do I not need it as I already have my original firmware from original benq drive (bricked one) or do I still need to unlock anyway..

Would really appreciate if someone could give me a step by step guide on this..

Many Thanks.. much appreciated :)

I'm sure the new drive will have stock firmware so you need to unlock it with the BenQ Unlock. At that point, once you get the flash chip properties, read the firmware. It will probably have a key in there. Copy and paste your key over the old one. Then load ix1.6 and click spoof. Go back over to MTK and write the firmware.

Open up Jungle Flasher and copy and paste your key to a text file or something.

Once you get the new BenQ drive unlocked, dump the firmware and JF will open it up for you. Go to the text file and copy your key and paste it into the firmware you just dumped. Save that firmware file.

Then load ix1.6 and spoof, then go to MTK flash and write your firmware.

if all you're trying to achieve is a benq with ix 1.6 fw then i don't see why you should need the ofw from your now bricked drive. as long as the new benq you get is functional you should be able to start the process from scratch correct?

if you want the key from your orig fw however just open jungleflasher and in the first tab load ofw and the key should appear in the textbox.

Hey, thanks for reply.. I believe the drive is related to the mother board in the 360 so you have to have the OFW for the original drive which was in the xbox 360 and write it to the new drive.. I think this is correct.. please someone correct me if I am wrong .. Thanks.

1. Load ORIGINAL BenQ firmware into SOURCE.
2. Load iXtreme 1.6 for BenQ into TARGET.
3. Click "Spoof Source to Target".
4. Go to MTKFlash tab, select S-ATA port, click Intro/Device ID.
5. Power Cycle when prompted. Should get status 0x73.
6. Click Write.

leerage thats great mate.. thats what I had in mind.. but you said that I needed to copy and paste the key onto the new drive etc.. so it got really confusing.. so are these the steps I definitely need to take then?

Also after writting do I click outro.. ? And just one last question.. when I flashed another benq last week I did not power cycle and it stilled worked.. must I do the power cycle or can I just leave it like that .. " I am using the CK3 Pro kit".. thanks

My last message was just to get the job done. The reason I said copy/paste your key because the firmware you will dump from the new drive has serial data that is for that drive. If you load you original firmware, it has serial data for that drive. As of right now, MS doesn't check for that stuff over XBL.

Version ix1.5 or higher (I believe) won't have to power cycle. I believe the firmguard has been removed from the firmware and will just automatically pop up the flash chip properties after you click intro.
