I spent a good 5 hours trying to flash my benq drive today but i just couldnt get my PC(jungle flasher, and iprep) to see the drive. My Chipset may be to blame, I have a Intel 82801GB Serial ATA Storage Controller 27C0 and 27DF. I have heard of users having problems with my chipset before. Is there any Sata to USB cord that i can use to flash my DVD drive? Can I flash it via USB? Would my pc recognize it if i used USB? or Should I buy a PCI card that is compatible?

Buy a PCI Card that is compatible, because SATA to USB won't work. Look on Newegg for the VIA6421. That is the one you would want to get for a PCI card.

this adapter is what i have used for all my flashes. IT WORKS!!! I have used this device on my xp desktop as well as my vista laptop. no need for a pci card if you dont want to use one. This product was discussed in another post.

dealextremes cheap but their shipping takes forever.. I ordered my chip and had to wait 3 weeks for it to come to PA, I mean it is free shipping and about 5 dollars less than other places, but I'd rather just buy in the US and have the sata chip in my hand in a few days!

Well the reason it takes so long to ship, is because they are shipping from Hong Kong. I bought an Acekard2i from there, and it took about 2 weeks to get to Utah. But good prices & Free Shipping!
