Hey Guys.

would be great if someone could help me, cant figure this out, don't know if anyone else has come across the same problem?

Right started off flashing my benq vad6083 with ixtreme 1.4, successful.

I then rip games with wxripper, and run the iso through dvd mulleter to create the dvd file.

I then use abgx360 to check the iso, which does all the checks, corrects everything etc.... all green text successful.

Then burn with imgburn at 2.4x, and and also 4x the games worked beautifully,

Then one day i started getting disc read errors on some of them, some at the title menu, some half way through a game.

I don't what has happened because they have been fine no probs at all.

to play a game on-line you sometimes have to update a game with Microsoft, which i did. I thought this was the problem and re flashed my drive with ixtreme 1.5.

Now all the new games i rip, fear2, wanted, hawx work great, i managed to get some of the games that wernt working before to boot up as well, but now im starting to get disc read errors again. HELP!!!!

what is going, i have made sure i havnt accepted any updates for games, so it cant be that, so i get the feeling its a problem with my drive.

so i have just bought a Samsung drive because i heard that you do not get these problems with them, but then i read elsewhere that the benq vad6083 is the best drive.

So what is the problem im getting, has anyone else experienced this, any help would be great thanks.

Well did you burn your games at 2.4x or 4x? People say that 4x works on their systems, but I have always used 2.4x and never had issues with my discs. The system updates wouldn't be affecting the way the drive performs, so it's not that. It could be that the laser is just having trouble reading the discs. What type of media are you using for your Discs? You may need to adjust the POT for the drive. What that is, is you have to open up the drive (you will need a multimeter for this), and there is a screw that you adjust to make the laser closer to the discs. Just search for "Adjust POT".

I would ay your drive is going, try to do a laser tweek by adjusting the pot on the drive. You can find the tut on the Ultimate Sticky page. If this does not work then try swapping out your drive. I have a benq flashed with ix1.51 ( havnt had time to uddate to ix1.6 yet) I had this problem with my first 360 that had a Samsung MS28 in it, I adjusted the pot and it worked for a while, then the drive finally died. Replaced the drive with another Sammy MS28 and all ways good. Also DVD Mulleter is outdated, I would not use it anymore, if you dont have a dvd file, ABGX with create one for you. Make sure you have the newest ABGX and you should be good with that. Hope this helps
