Problem installing Kryptview via N*l/C*orus??

Yeah i know that fergus, but he said they are both ntl, and he said he had 'The Box' so sounds more like ntl mmds than chorus.
Froshty, when you set up 'The Box' for him, did it work in your house?

well if he gets the name of the providers box and the info from under it then we will know like the magic roundabout this one

I looked at his orignal N*L box before i left yesterday and im sure it said sagam on the front of it where teh lcd display is.

ok if its sagam it will be small gray box you must be on chorus get the details from underside of it
look for ITD60 on the lable

Froshty, when you set up 'The Box' for him, did it work in your house?
No id have to rescan the box at my house again to get the channels.

Ya its a small grey box alright,
I wont be up in his house untill later this afternoon,
So if it says ITD60 does that mean bad new for him?

yes mate no box unless he gets the digivox T for his aerial as that box will not work in his house

Thats 99% the problem so,
They run on a different system than what he was using with his old box so.
What are the didivox t's like??

they are a terrestrial box for people that have aerials on the roof at the present time there has been no change in the system on them yet !!!

So what would the digivox give him that his Starview isn't? I didn't think the digivox would get him any extra channels over The Box T?
And did Chor*s change to N2? Maybe he just needs to do a rescan on his Starview?

it wont but as he has said his system has changed so maybe he was using a starview dvb-c box before change to dvb-t box you know as much as i do about this

It's just a bit confusing, i've never heard of them changing areas from dvb-c to dvb-t before.
And if he still has other channels working on his starview sounds like he might need to update the firmware, surely if they had changed systems he would be getting no channels at all?
froshty, exactly what channels is he getting, when did this start, and when is the last time he flashed his The Box?

IN his house with "the box" no movie cahnnels or sly sports. and whatever else is gone. couple of the music channels and the adult ones.

they have changed a whole area in co meath from dvb-t to dvb-c in 1 day so its possible for them to do anything at this stage i think

lol im confused myself alright,
Firsrt i heard about the different box type ie the t type was when i was talking to a fella in athlone who was on chorus and a box super t and had all the channels.
Hes obviously on a different provider than me.
But i havint a clue what the story is now in my friends house,
I just figured that since the old box worked in his house that the kryptview would work also,
Like i said the box is still working but missing the channels that have moved to nagra 3.

Yeah they changed from dvb-t to dvb-c, i knew that, but would be very surprised if they did it the other way around?
froshty, the best thing is for you to wait and find out exactly what box he has, and if he has a box T he is chorus mmds. The only box that is currently getting the movies, sports etc is the kryptview, which he can't use on chorus mmds, he is wasting his money buying anything else at the moment.
As fergus said they have been changing areas from dvb-t to dvb-c so they might change his area soon, nobody really knows?

Scan the kryptview in your house and bring it around to his.
"The box T" says it clearly on the front right hand upper corner

Well if The Box worked in your house, and the kryptview works in your house, and The Box worked in his house, it's not the Box T. So he must be ntl mmds, in which case the kryptview will work, but you have to manually scan in the frequencies, look at the links Evastar posted earlier.

I will see what frequancies he is using on the box in house and go from there,

Thanks for all the help yesterday,
Got the frequancies he was using, 9 in total,
Typed them in and mannualy scanned,
Picked up the channels, so all is well.
