Hate to have to post something that I'm sure has been talked about literally a million times but can anyone recommend a burner for me to purchase for making backups. All of the searches I've done come up with older threads talking about the Pioneer 111d and 112d which everywhere I see is discontinued. Would the Pioneer DVR-117D work for backups and also does it have the booktype feature I keep seeing posted about? Is booktype a feature of the drives fw or the actual drive itself?
Any quick advice would be appreciated. Not looking for anything too in depth just if anyone could point me in the direction of or recommend a model or 2 to look at. Apologize again about posting stuff that has been posted before just honestly all I found with searching on this topic was old outdated posts with discontinued burners. I'd always rather search for the answer myself than post the same stuff again just aren't having any luck. Thank you for any help
Almost every newer double layer burner should do, those 2 pioneer burners were simply the ones giving no problems at all so they were recommended at their time.
Xbox 360: Slim untouched with a faked 320 GB harddrive for XBL, phat with LT 3.0, played Halo early, so going on live would be an instand ban, also with a faked 320 GB harddrive
PS3: Untouched 160 GB Slim, 60 GB Fat with latest Rogero and 160 GB internal harddrive.
PSVita: hardly ever play it
GameCube: Black with a Viper chip installed. With gameboy player. Trying to get a Wavebird controller.
Yea that's what I keep seeing in the most recent posts when I looked about any old dual layer should be fine. Just wanted to attempt to double check before ordering if there is a burner out there that is superior and out performs others. Got my Kreon drive for ripping, all the tools and fw for flashing, this is the last thing I think I am going to need is a dual layer for backing up my games. Thanks for the help.
I use a Pioneer 215d and find its an excellent burner, the only thing i have had problems with is when i use it with imgburn my burns wont finalize, i always get an i/o error, but not had a bad burn using clonecd and i have burned alot of games

try doing it again but burn at 8x .. some newer burners area lot more stable burning at a faster speed. I had the same problem, I've done this and now its perfect and finalises every time.
w4nker, i'm not really that bothered about imgburn not working as clonecd does the trick, thanks for the tip though, also i use Aone Pro dl disks and have not had 1 problem with these disks, also less than half the price of verbs!!
