Hello everyone,
This is my first time on AfterDawn.com. I apologize if this question has already been asked but I could not find it by using the Search field.
I want to import a UK PlayStation 2 (PS2) (fat) console to the USA. I would like to connect the console to my NTSC Samsung LCD HDTV.
How do I go about connecting the UK PS2 (fat) to my NTSC LCD HDTV so that I can play PAL PS2 games?
What connectors and converters do I need to purchase? How do I plug in the UK PS2 (fat) to my USA wall plug?
Please let me know how this can be done. Thank you everyone.

Ok, so what me and my family did was instead of buying a damn converter, we just looked around craigslist and got a PAL/NTSC TV that works in the US. Than, we bought Swap Magic, which is useless now because of Memento + Memor32.

Hi OmriSama,
Thanks for the reply. A PAL/NTSC TV might be something that I should look in to.
How did you take care of powering on the UK PS2 in the U.S.? Do I need to purchase a plug converter and a voltage converter?
Can you recommend any?
What was your solution?
Thanks.

Just went to Fry's and got the appropriate voltage converter.
Than when I (unfortunately) got my PS2 hardmodded, I got my electricity adapter in the PS2 replaced with an American rather than European one.

Hi OmriSama,
Did you use the existing power cable that came with your European PS2? Did you have to purchase a plug adapter since the European plug ends are different from the USA plug ends?
Why do you regret modding your PS2? I thought it was advantagious to do that?

Well, when I got it modded I also got a American PS2 cable, but I used some sort of 'plug end' converters, from UK to US. Those are kinda easy to find I guess.
Modding is an advantage, but, it's not good when 4 or 5 years after you mod your PS2 the modchip dies and takes your whole PS2 with it.
