So i just used jungle flasher to flash my ms28 drive today, and it found it no problem. My question is, i have the xbox drive hooked up to an onboard sata hookup and i cant figure out how to backup my originals. Is there anyone out there that has any info on this? jungle flasher found it but its not recoginized at all on my pc. Do i need to buy the via sata card? my motherboard is via and unlocked/updated fw with no problems and found the drive. Thanks again..

Were you able to flash it properly? And what firmware was it? Was it the iXtreme 1.6?

If you have done so, you need to get the drive in vendor mode so that you can backup your games. What you do is when you boot up the computer, u eject the drive, unplug power, push drive half way, then plug power back in. You need to do that while windows is booting up. If you did it right, you will see your drive in "My Computer". Then you can go ahead and backup your games.

There isn't a version of Xbox Backup Creator (XBC) that has been updated to support 1.6 yet, but supposedly it's being worked on. You can try using imgburn to do it, and it should go just fine!

Hope that helps!

yeah, I unlocked the drive and updated to 1.6. It said it was in vender mode on jungle flasher. I dunno if the firmware installed properly since i have yet to backup one of my games to check, but jungle flasher showed it as ixtreme so i figured its updated and originals still boot.

I have the new ufc games and want to backup the original, and i have read about wave 3 games being somewhat different. Does anyone know how its done? Any help would be great.

Ok, but after you flashed it, and it was in vendor mode, you actually need to send the Outro, to put the drive back to normal. Then reboot your computer and do what I said earlier to have Windows actually recognize it in "My Computer".

The only difference with wave 3, is that the disc has this new wave 3 on it. Making a backup isn't going to be any different from backing up games that don't have wave 3.

No, when you flashed your 360, did you click Outro in JF, to return the drive back to normal, instead of being in Vendor mode?

No, i did not, but the games load and xbox live worked. Ill do that when i get home. so without doing that what will happen? It that just so you can access your drive in windows?

you said in an earlier post that the drive needs to be in vender mode to burn games, will doing the outro still keep it in vender mode so i can burn games from the xbox drive?

well if the games load, then there is no use for the outro. Because the games wouldn't play if it was in vendor mode!

So you can actually go ahead and when booting up the computer, do what I said in my first post. Hopefully your computer will show the drive in "My Computer". When it showed up on my system, it showed it as a CD Drive, not a DVD Drive, which was weird!

When you power cycle the drive, it will no longer be in vendor mode. So you need to do the steps when booting windows to get it into vendor mode, and spotted by Windows. It won't work when you go into JF and put it in Vendor Mode that way.
