I purchased a new samsung ms 25 off of ebay and they sent me a ms 28. Will this still work if I flash it with my drive key?

the drive most likely does not have any firmware on it at all does it eject? if not then you would have to hot swap the drive with a working samsung drive that has working firmware just so your raid controller can detect the drive

my ms 25 in there now is spoofed to a ms28 and it works just fine with pressed media just wont read backups

Then it doesn't have the proper firmware loaded. Load 1.6 and then try it.

if it reads retail but not backups, then you don't have the modded firmware as stated above. Or they aren' t burnt properly. Are you sure it's modded?

yeah i did it myself my laser is bad thats why im replacing the drive. I tried a pot tweak but it read low thats the reason for the new sammy they just sent me the 28 instead of the 25

You would still have to spoof the firmware for it to even work. It does play retail games? You still need to spoof to 1.6 firmware to play backups

yes it will work. If it has the firmware, try setting it around 3.04

was your old drive flashed and playing back ups if so why not just swap out the pcb from ur old sammy to ur new sammy easy
