HEllo.
im going through this tut and its says this."Click on ?Device Manager? and scroll down to ?SCSI and Raid Controller?, click the + sign to expand the list. Right click on your VIA card, and click ?Disable?. When prompted with a yes/no message, click yes to disable it."

I go there and i dont have a via card all it says is IDE controller and
SCSI Controller.

Do i need to disable either of these?

You have to buy the card separately. Alternatively you can use your on board sata and see if its compatable. I think its usually the ones with the nvidia chipsets.

:) ok now ive connected my drive to my pc via sata cable and i get the BSOD when i turn on my drive. It says

RQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

do you have the via 6421 PCI card or not? if not, then you will more than likely have to buy it.

also, is this the same drive your having problems in your other thread i've been typing in?
