Blue screen of DEATH, when connecting 360 drive to pc

When I turn on my 360 while its connected via sata cable, i get the BSOD
and it says something about not being equal??
help i have no idea

why not just turn the console on before you log into windows, or even before you turn on the desktop? i think this is what you are suppose to do anyways.

well why are you updating to 1.51 instead of 1.6? and just follow the tutorial within jungle flasher as this is what you should be using to flash the console with. if it BSOD in it, then just use iprep or dosflash and that should solve the problem hopefully.
i dont think it should BSOD if you start the console before you turn on the computer as it would register the device while its booting up.

Have you installed the port IO drivers? My buddy was getting the BSOD as well, but forgot to install the IO Drivers!

I was just using the video as a guideline.
also i tried turning on the concole then the pc, it worked until i tried turning the console of then on again, i got BSOD.
so i have to instal port IO drivers?
where do i get that?

are you using a via 6421 PCI card? if your not you should really get one. also, you might want to try iprep then since you dont have to be within windows to flash the drive. assuming you are flashing a samsung, benq, or lite-on drive.

havent used it in a while, but last i remembered it was very easy,just type in a couple of command prompts and do as it tells you. but you should really get the PCI card though; unless you have a compatible motherboard.

umm, call the person up and tell them to email you the files from it. without it you are pretty much screwed. in theory all you need is the dummy.bin, but it would be beneficial to put the remaining files on there as well.

you can reflash it, you just need to dump the dummy.bin file. but you wont have the inquiry.bin, identify.bin and the other one without either a) getting them from the original flasher, b) getting a ck3/probe and reading the FW yourself, c) sending it to someone to retrieve the info from you.
someone correct me if im wrong here.
if you want to go with option c and send the drive out, ill do it for you if your in the states, just cover shipping both ways.
however, now that im thinking about it, could be totally wrong here as i've been up for 20 hours today, you might not have to worry about it anyways, because when you reflash a lite-on you just dump the dummy.bin anyways. but you might want to have a look at the jungle flasher tutorial and see if it mentions anything about the other files. it might just say to use the original ones and put them in the source and destination spots manually, or you dont need to worry about them.
and if i have totally confused you, then i apologize because i think i just confused the crap out of myself in doing this.
